Christmas Day, Please Don't End

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

Christmas Day, Please Don’t End

I woke up feeling an urge to cheer.
I’m happy the holiday season is here.
I look forward to time with family and friends.
Please Christmas day, please don’t end.
This is the time that we all get surprised.

As we wonder what gifts are wrapped up inside.
What’s in the presents that are under the tree?
Will it be enough to make us all happy?
I’m imagining holding a gift, right in my hand.

I’m pulling apart the ribbons, strand by strand.
My eyes open wide, as I take a peek.
This was the perfect gift for me.
My gift was a shirt that was one of a kind.

The way it felt was amazing, it blew my mind.
When I put on the shirt, it fit me so well.
It looked so expensive, even in a holiday sale.
The rest of the gifts were good too.

We had everything imagined, including shoes.
Everyone had gifts and they had big smiles.
We wished for this day to last for a while.

Christmas Eve Drive

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

Christmas Eve Drive

Let’s go for a drive.
This is Christmas Eve.
We can see all the lights.
As they shine bright on the streets.
It’s nice to see some snow.
It covers all of the ground.
There’s no traffic on the road.
The coast is clear all around.

The weather is very cold.
We still let our windows down.
The air feels good as it hit our faces.
We feel alive as we visit places.
Having fun is our style.
As we drive around for miles.
It’s nice to see the scene.
As we drive on Christmas Eve.

My Moment with My Grandmother

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

My Moment with My Grandmother

What was your favorite Christmas Moment?
Was it filled joy and laughter?
My moment was when grandmother was around.
She would fuss and say that I acted like a clown.
She made jokes toward me in a loving way.
She kept me entertained all day.
She made a day seem like a week.
The food that she cooked was delicious to eat.

She walked around with her purse in hand.
She acted like she was the diva over all the land.
Her hair went past her shoulder from her head.
She had fashion, she knew how to dress.
Her clothes were always clean and neatly pressed.
Every day was Christmas when she was around.
There’s was only laughter and smiles.
Who’s the funniest person that you know?

As for me, it’s my granny for sure.

Can Adults Have Their Own Christmas?

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

Can Adults Have Their Own Christmas?

Can adults have own Christmas?
Is it temptation? Will you resist?
Imagine having our own Santa Clause.
That brings surprise gifts from the mall.

Imagine today is Christmas day.
You can everything you want your way.
You can have coffee while you’re in bed.
Forget work, just play all day instead.

You raise your hands with a lift.
You reach and grab your gift.
You were good all year long.
Now you’re singing Christmas songs.

Congratulations, this is it.
Merry Christmas, you've got your wish.

I Can't Believe The Chaos

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

 I Can’t Believe the Chaos

The madness erupts. What’s going on?
There’s so much chaos. What’s so wrong?
I was standing in line at the front of the store.
Everyone was losing patience.
They were saying, ‘’hurry, open the door.’’
The doors opened, the marathon race begins.
People rushed in with the desire to win.

Their carts were filled with electronics.
This was the result of economics.
The ads made these products high in demand.
Even a person without logic would understand.
The holiday sale brought the mass numbers out.
They’re ready to buy and won’t leave without.
People will respond to the authority in command.
The authority is their urges that come from within.

All of the shoppers were ready to fight.
As soon as they saw only one toy left in sight.
I couldn't believe I saw a mom get into a fight.
Just moments before, she was talking so nice.
Someone stepped in front of where she stands.
She responded by slapping him with her hand.
This was the chaos of the after Thanksgiving sale.
This was the day, that peace and harmony failed.

Thanksgiving Diet

This is a poem from the book ''Christmas Poetry for Everyone''

Thanksgiving Diet

Is it unrealistic?
How can I diet on Thanksgiving?
Or is the timing a bad one?
There’s much temptation under the sun.

How can I sit here and not eat?
When there’s enough food for a feast.
I ignore the turkey and dressing.
Is it worth a dietary confession?

My arms are folded at the table.
I’m surrounded by family and friends.
They are tearing into the food.
It’s so good, their faces have big grins.

How can I keep my diet?
Is there a way to enjoy this feast?
Maybe I can eat a small portion.
Or should I simply just not eat.

All of this confusion is taking hold of me.
My family thinks that’s I’m crazy.
How can I diet on Thanksgiving?

I Must Move On

This is a poem from the book ''Love Poems: Are You The One?''

I Must Move On

The words you speak
It means nothing to me
Because they’re just words
There’s no action

I’m at a point that I want us to end
I love you so much and it will heartbreaking
I can’t continue living through this pain
I don’t want my love to turn into hate

You’ve disrespected me for way too long
I let it got out of hand
I was too busy working every single day
I worked hard while you only played

You've become a burden
Even a blind man can see
You feel entitled
What makes you think you should be?

Love doesn't entitle you to treat me any kind of way
You've taken advantage of me being easy going
I don’t like confrontation, I rather us speak what we have to say
All the yelling that you’re doing, is not my kind of game

I’m getting to the point where I don’t want to be here
I avoid coming home because I know an argument is near
I hate splitting up and I don’t want this to end
But unfortunately I have to listen to my spirit

I know this is going to hurt both you and me
My heart will ache for an eternity
But I have to stop this cycle of what we’re going through
My love, we must end, it’s time for me to make that move

On Aug 11th, it all began

My journey in this world began on this day in the past.  Today is my birthday and I've already received phone calls, emails and social media postings.  Thank you to everyone who is taking the time out of the day to do these things.  I am appreciative.

I give a special thank you to my mother.  When I was born, she almost died giving birth to me.  She was hospitalized for weeks.  I can't imagine my life without her and I love her so much.  That's my reflective moment today.

Thinking about this year, so far has been a very amazing year, and I have accomplished some goals that I've set out to accomplish.  Looking back and reflecting, the best birthday gift is the gift of life.  Knowing that another year has passed and I can truly say that I'm at a good place in my life.  Now my wish is for others to have that same feeling about their own lives at some point.   It wasn't easy getting to this place.  If I took the time to talk about all the bad stuff, this posting would be pages long.  But that's nothing new, everyone has obstacles.  At the end of the day, it's all about how we handle and how we overcome.  So I will close this posting out with my tagline that I made years ago, that is my signature quote, ''Success comes from patience and persistence!!.''

Sincerely,

Steve Ryan

When We First Met

This is a poem from the book, ''Love Poems: Are You The One?

16. When We First Met

When we first met
It was like magic
We fit so well together
We had a natural attraction

When I looked into your eyes
You reached out for my hand
That first kiss was a surprise
It ignited a new romance

When we first held each other
I didn’t want to let go
That moment was real and special
It wasn’t just a show

Anytime that we’re together
We make each other smile
That stays in my mind forever
I get excited like a child

When I hear your voice
I start to melt inside
It’s so smooth and sweet
It keeps me mesmerized

When I kiss your sexy lips
Mmmm is all I can say
We had this natural connection
Ever since that first day

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

You are more than just my mother.  You're my friend.

You've always been there, even when I anger you to no end.

I've tested your patience and sometimes I'm not always the best son.

But your forgiveness is unlimited, you embrace me with a hug.

I admire your strength and all the things that you do.

You're so fair, honest and kind.  I can count on you for some truth.

I realize all the things that you went through for me.

When I was kid, these were things that I couldn't see.

I have so much respect for you now that I understand.

The things that you went through to keep a roof over our head.

So Happy Birthday Mom, I honor you this day.

I love you and that's all I want to say.....
