Christmas in the Bar

Have you ever spent Christmas in a bar?
Having drinks and listening to a guitar?
I went through this one time before.
I missed my flight and was stuck in Singapore.

There was a bar in the airport hotel.
I decided to spend part of my Christmas there.
Some people were drinking.
Others were doing karaoke singing.

It actually turned out to be fun.
There was gambling, someone yelled ‘’I won.’’
All of a sudden some guys walked in.
They had a look with a smirk and grin.

They were up to something, it was easy to tell.
And at that moment, peace in the bar fell.
A fight broke out, they struck with their hands.
Blood was coming out and chaos set in.

The police arrived and broke it all up.
As they questioned everyone, we all were stuck.
After that happened the bar went back to normal.
No one was nervous, they acted so informal.

Was this a regular scene in this particular bar?

This Christmas Day stands out by far.

Take Your Power Back

Take your power back
Don’t let any human being make you think that you are worth any less
People will always be people
Some are nice and giving, others are takers and selfish

I have gone through a period of recognizing who’s important
And the time has come to realign who’s in my life
And if you ever felt this way, don’t be afraid
To move on with your life, even if that means shedding some people

Everyone’s not meant to be in each other’s lives
Some people are there for a reason and a season
And it’s amazing how the true loyal friends stand out over time

I’ve learned to be loyal to those who earn my trust and loyalty
Trust is a privilege and should not be automatically given

So much wisdom has hit my eyes about how to navigate through life
And I am grateful to have this mindset that releases me from my self-inflicted suffering
And I have taken my own advice

I have taken back the power of my life and my mind

Make Each Day A Happy Day

I recently went through a traumatic experience, which I won't go into details on.  But I wanted to share with you that what is on my mind right now is, to make each day a happy day.  I decided that every day I wake up, I am going to have a goal to do things that day to be happy and to live life to the fullest.   It can be something simple. A book, movies, hang with friends, family, anything.  I want to share a poem that I literally just wrote with you.

Make Each Day A Happy Day

I recently been through an experience
That one could not imagine
It was very cold
And it was very traumatic

I felt real down, I felt locked in
It seemed as if my world would end
And then something came in my spirit
And said wake up, it’s time to start living

I learned a lesson from what I went through
And that is to make each moment count in all that you do
I learned to take a step, one day at a time
And to have faith that the sun of joy will shine

I will wake up each day with a goal to be happy
I will be active and work toward this satisfaction
I will focus on being the best that I can be
And then this goal will become reality

The Sweet Aroma

How sweet is that aroma
The smell of roses, one of a kind
Never leaving my mind
When I think of you.

You are so beautiful
Inside and out
Your eyes are so pure
Explaining true love that’s within.

When your presence meets mine
Paradise begins
I then begin to hope
That paradise never ends.

Pondering on the meaning
I wonder what we will be
For surely time holds the key
To the future of destiny.

What becomes of the future
Surely means nothing to me
For I will always feel complete
From this heavenly memory

How sweet is that aroma
The feel of closeness so entwined
Forever it will climb
Into my senses and my view

We are so suitable
There is no doubt
You are my soul mate
I don’t want to live without

When I see you
My heart skips a beat
When we hold each other
I want time to freeze

No other person in the world
Makes me feel the way you do
I only have three words
That is, I love you.

A Surreal Night

I just want to pour my heart out right now.  Words can't describe how good it feels to have all of your support.  I am so appreciative to all of my fans.  You always give so much support.  I had an amazing show last night and to see so many people being touched by my voice and my music was really surreal.  You inspire me.  You are like the blood in my veins that keeps me moving.

And to top it off, last night, when Mark Mendoza from Twisted Sister complimented me and said I had an amazing voice and really good music, that was just really motivating. This dude is from one of the greatest bands of all time and he was digging my songs ''Real Time'' and ''Easier Said Than Done.''  For a guy like that to be impressed by my music, that put me on cloud 9.

I never take any of you for granted.  Steve Ryan is officially on the map.  It's only up from here and you're coming with me!!  I don't know if I'm going to accept this deal that's on the table from the major label yet or not, but either way, I am going to keep bringing you GREAT music and poetry.

My Real Moment of Feeling Lost

I want to open and share something with you.  Recently, I was feeling down and having a moment that I felt lost and blocked.  I just felt like I didn't have the energy inside to move forward.  Things just seemed like a mountain.  I felt overwhelmed, exhausted and fatigued.  I'm always on the go and sometimes I just get lost in being so busy that I lose sight of things at times.

I'm in Nashville at the moment and when I met with one of my mentors yesterday, she made a statement that really touched me.  She had no clue of how I was feeling so I knew this statement was meant for me to hear.  She said, ''it's ok not to smile and be positive all the time.  It's ok to have a moment when you feel down.  Embrace it, go through it and then get out of it.''  Those were the words that I needed to hear.  So I took what I was feeling and started writing, writing, writing.  Song after song.  I'm starting to feel a little better, not 100 percent, but I will get there.  I thought I'd share how I was feeling with you all because this may help someone else who is going through something similar.  Thanks for listening and reading this.

Much love ---- Steve Ryan

Should I Buy My Lady A Diamond Ring?

I’m just sitting here on this endless delay
Allowing my time to flow away
I’m thinking about that April spring
Should I buy my lady a diamond ring?

There is nothing here that’s in this world
That is better than my special girl
So it’s time to let my true love sing
Should I buy my lady that diamond ring?

She’s been there for me through thick and thin
And her patience with me, it never caves in
It’s time to show my appreciation
By giving her my full dedication

I will keep our flame forever lit and from dying
Whatever it takes, I will keep on trying
This isn’t some line that is used for lying
Her unconditional love for me, is so inspiring

It feels so good to make her feel wanted
She deserves the best, she deserves to flaunt it
I’ve decided to make a go at this theme
It’s time to buy my lady a diamond ring.

Can a flame stay burning without feeding it?
Can a flower stay growing without being grounded?
So I can’t expect my lady to be any different
I must nurture her and care and show her I mean it

Besides, what is this thing called money
It can’t feed you like milk and honey
For it cannot be compared to love
And you can’t take it with you to the sky above

So instead of holding on to it in a cheap way
Why not use it to show I want my lady to stay
This is why I’m doing the right thing
By buying my lady that diamond ring
