My journey in this world began on this day in the past. Today is my birthday and I've already received phone calls, emails and social media postings. Thank you to everyone who is taking the time out of the day to do these things. I am appreciative.
I give a special thank you to my mother. When I was born, she almost died giving birth to me. She was hospitalized for weeks. I can't imagine my life without her and I love her so much. That's my reflective moment today.
Thinking about this year, so far has been a very amazing year, and I have accomplished some goals that I've set out to accomplish. Looking back and reflecting, the best birthday gift is the gift of life. Knowing that another year has passed and I can truly say that I'm at a good place in my life. Now my wish is for others to have that same feeling about their own lives at some point. It wasn't easy getting to this place. If I took the time to talk about all the bad stuff, this posting would be pages long. But that's nothing new, everyone has obstacles. At the end of the day, it's all about how we handle and how we overcome. So I will close this posting out with my tagline that I made years ago, that is my signature quote, ''Success comes from patience and persistence!!.''
Sincerely,
Steve Ryan

When We First Met
This is a poem from the book, ''Love Poems: Are You The One?
16. When We First Met
When
we first met
It
was like magic
We
fit so well together
We
had a natural attraction
When
I looked into your eyes
You
reached out for my hand
That
first kiss was a surprise
It
ignited a new romance
When
we first held each other
I
didn’t want to let go
That
moment was real and special
It
wasn’t just a show
Anytime
that we’re together
We
make each other smile
That
stays in my mind forever
I
get excited like a child
When
I hear your voice
I
start to melt inside
It’s
so smooth and sweet
It
keeps me mesmerized
When
I kiss your sexy lips
Mmmm
is all I can say
We
had this natural connection
Ever
since that first day

Happy Birthday Mom!!
Happy Birthday Mom!!
You are more than just my mother. You're my friend.
You've always been there, even when I anger you to no end.
I've tested your patience and sometimes I'm not always the best son.
But your forgiveness is unlimited, you embrace me with a hug.
I admire your strength and all the things that you do.
You're so fair, honest and kind. I can count on you for some truth.
I realize all the things that you went through for me.
When I was kid, these were things that I couldn't see.
I have so much respect for you now that I understand.
The things that you went through to keep a roof over our head.
So Happy Birthday Mom, I honor you this day.
I love you and that's all I want to say.....

Christmas in the Bar
Have
you ever spent Christmas in a bar?
Having
drinks and listening to a guitar?
I went
through this one time before.
I
missed my flight and was stuck in Singapore.
There
was a bar in the airport hotel.
I
decided to spend part of my Christmas there.
Some
people were drinking.
Others
were doing karaoke singing.
It
actually turned out to be fun.
There
was gambling, someone yelled ‘’I won.’’
All of
a sudden some guys walked in.
They
had a look with a smirk and grin.
They
were up to something, it was easy to tell.
And at that moment, peace in the bar fell.
A fight
broke out, they struck with their hands.
Blood
was coming out and chaos set in.
The
police arrived and broke it all up.
As they
questioned everyone, we all were stuck.
After
that happened the bar went back to normal.
No one
was nervous, they acted so informal.
Was
this a regular scene in this particular bar?
This
Christmas Day stands out by far.

Take Your Power Back
Take your
power back
Don’t let
any human being make you think that you are worth any less
People will
always be people
Some are
nice and giving, others are takers and selfish
I have gone
through a period of recognizing who’s important
And the time
has come to realign who’s in my life
And if you
ever felt this way, don’t be afraid
To move on
with your life, even if that means shedding some people
Everyone’s
not meant to be in each other’s lives
Some people
are there for a reason and a season
And it’s
amazing how the true loyal friends stand out over time
I’ve learned
to be loyal to those who earn my trust and loyalty
Trust is a
privilege and should not be automatically given
So much
wisdom has hit my eyes about how to navigate through life
And I am
grateful to have this mindset that releases me from my self-inflicted suffering
And I have
taken my own advice
I have taken
back the power of my life and my mind
