Chapter 3 – The Relationship

Partial Chapter from the book, ''Love Poems: Are You The One?"

Chapter 3 – The Relationship

If you are in a relationship, how does it feel to you?  It takes work getting to a relationship for some people at least.  Relationships have their different stages.  You meet, get to know one another, date and eventually you get into the relationship.  The speed and the requirements that people have on  each other will vary from situation to situation.

There are a few things that comes to people’s mind when they think about a relationship.  Can I trust this person?  Is this going to work out?  Is this person being faithful?  Does this have long term potential?  There isn’t a way to know these things every step along the way.  Relationships have so many dynamics to them.  Some of those dynamics are compatibility with each other, personalities, level of connection and a trust factor.

In my opinion, I feel that relationships work out best when people can accept their partner as they are.  One of the biggest things that I’ve seen in relationships that don’t work is when one person tries to force change on the other person.  This leads to feelings of being taken for granted, being controlled and an imbalance in the relationship.  Either two people fit for each other or they don’t.  Don’t get me wrong, change can be good.  Especially when there are damaging habits.  However, when it starts to become a situation to where you’re trying to force someone to change, that can be a problem.

The key to a relationship working out is good communication, learning to understand your partner and accepting the fact that no situation is going to be perfect.  And if those things are in place and your partner isn’t being a negative impact on your life, then the relationship have a lot of potential to work out.  We now introducing The Relationship.
